Location: The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge, 18 High Street, Canterbury, CT1 2BD
The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge welcomes delegates from Kent and Medway museums & galleries to join us for a morning of free talks and activities based around the Beaney’s award-winning health & well-being programme, and in particular the HLF-RNIB Sensing Culture project working with visually impaired (VI) visitors.
Sessions will cover
• An introduction to visual impairment, and how we can work better with our VI visitors
• object handling, art & making, Arts Awards, and music for VI adults & children
• A guided tour of the new visual impairment exhibition by its curator
• A live demonstration using music and technology to bring paintings to life
Tea and coffee will be served at 10.30am after the first session.
You are welcome to stay at the Beaney after 1.30pm to browse the free-entry exhibitions and permanent galleries and the museum has a cafe where you can purchase lunch after the event.
