Research Matchmaker: Collections at Risk - prototype launch and networking event

Thursday 14th December 2017

The South East Museum Development Programme is a partner in an exciting project, led by Southampton Solent University and seedfunded by MUPI (Museum University Partnerships Initiative).

The project is working to:

  • identify at risk collections in museums within the South East Museum Development Programme’s network (SEMDP)
  • identify interested academics in the region to demonstrate continued collections value in collaboration with museums
  • develop a funding bid for a digital platform facilitating research partnerships and funding bids between suitably aligned museum collections and academics.

In the early stages of the project, the platform is being scoped and a prototype developed. Museums' views are being sought via our short online survey.

By December 2017 the project team will be ready to share its initial work and get feedback and suggestions from a wider circle of museums and academics.
